Not sure if this helps, but I figured out how to install Eclipse eaisly after much research and difficulity. The problem was I was using winzip.

If you look at the eclipse zip file that contains all its files, copy them all to c:\eclipse (unzipping while that happens) is automatic on my computer. In other words, you need the same file structure exactly as you see in the zip file.

I found that winzip does not do it correctly, so I wouldn't use that.
