I have the next problem : i make a sql connection via the SQLSTRINGCONNECT() and that works fine. Now i have 2 xp home servicepack 3 machines where that doesn't work. Tested with odbc connection and found out that the only way to get a connection is to specify my port (1433) .

is it possible to send with the SQLSTRINGCONNECT() command the port to use or is there any other way to solve this prob ?
