Speaking of tornadoes ... when I lived in Georgia many, many years ago, I was awakened at about 5:00am by what sounded like a train. Very loud and noisy ... I had no idea it was a tornado until I got out of bed about an hour later and looked out the front window. There was pink and yellow fiberglass insulation scattered throughout the neighborhood ... in trees, on the street, in yards. I wondered where this thing touched down that it carried around that much insulation. Come to find out later that day that it had hit a building supply warehouse only a few miles away. It touched down again in a neighborhood less than a mile from ours, skipped over ours and touched down again on the other side ... dropping all that fiberglass along the way.

>>hurricanes, yes. Tornadoes, no. Last tornado that hit moved at 50mph and by the time it was seen or caught on radar it had passed by already. I was actually watching the news at the time and no tornado warning yet. It hit a mile from me and sounded like a train was going through my building - it was a big and loud one. Came so fast the pipes were rattling for about 5 seconds (enough time to run to the bathroom but that's all). It damaged/destroyed some homes :( I can't imagine what it felt like even closer...

>When I lived in Texas several years ago we had a tornado rip though our neighborhood. It actually hopped over our house - and then destroyed the 4500sq ft house across the street. - It ripped the whole front 1/2 of their house off and they found their refrigerator two blocks away 30 foot up in someones tree..and yes is was L O U D.
