Go back to Google Chrome to get to the UT and the delays and lags are immediate again. Really a shame because to all other sites it is soooooooooo much faster than the other browsers I've tested. Oh well....

There have been a couple of times where I've run across some lags while on the UT - I've pretty much nailed it down to the audio - although it doesn't seem to happen to me much - and hasn't at all since I installed the new one yesterday.
>>>>>>
>>>>>>I'll give them both a try. Thanks! I've always had audio turned off. My lags are when posting (clicking on the send button). The delay is sometimes indefinite. It's like a postback or something doesn't work. It's always waiting....for a response from the UT that never seems to come.

>>>>Testing Google Chrome beta......,,, (so far so good posting replies, but there was a long delay when I clicked on your message just to view it again) It's difficult to say it's ok until I test throughout the day(s) because the delay/lag is intermittent, but when it happens, it's really bad...
>>>
>>>Are you seeing these delays *only* with UT, or intermittently with other sites as well? I had a similar problem about a year ago, intermittent long delays with no rhyme or reason. Turned out my router was going bad. Got a new one, problem gone. Can you test with a different router?
>>>
>>>I ran into another obscure problem before that. I have cable service, originally set up with a Terayon cable modem. This was working fine but I noticed the speed was slowly getting less and less. Turned out my ISP had upgraded their network (to a newer version of DOCSIS IIRC) with which the Terayon modem wasn't compatible. My modem still worked, but was relegated to a "legacy" portion of their network, with minimal bandwidth and support. After I complained, they apologetically said I should have had my modem upgraded. I traded it in for a new Motorola - speeds went from 1 - 1.5Mbps on a good day, to 8Mbps full-time.
>>>
>>>Just thought I'd mention that in case you have an old cable modem. Cable ISPs are always happy to upgrade you for free, they don't want to have to support old modems.
>>
>>Definitely not the router. It happens on my work pc at work, my work laptop (from any location), and my home systems (from home or any locations). Those are separate entirely. It is still happening. I tested at work and at home today. The latest Chrome beta has the same intermittent delay. So far only with the UT and one other site though am I having this issue.

>I believe Michel built this site on a 100% MS stack, and the only officially supported browser is IE. That makes me wonder... if there's a switch somewhere in IIS something like, "Use performance optimizations made possible because all clients are IE".

>On a related note, some browsers (Opera for one, IIRC) let you specify what your browser reports back to the server, when the server queries the browser type. For example, even though it's Opera, you can have it report "IE" (either globally, or on a site-by-site basis [? not sure]).
>
>I don't know if Chrome has anything similar, but if it does you could experiment with that.

The other site is a financial institution site. I didn't find any setting to report "IE" in any of the chrome configuration settings. I did send the site urls to Chrome as a bug report for page/url issues with google chrome.
