Not quite sure what you mean - in 6 my debug window never pops up with the breakpoint, I always have to enlarge it first. STEP brings it up the first time only, but doesn't enlarge a minimized debug window thereafter...breakpoint won't open the debug window, but STEP does...
In any event, STEP can be a liability, so I avoid it now. I forgot about one in an obscure place in an app once, and of course a user got a "feature not found" error - oops :)
