Priceline also has some really good deals (packages) on combined air/rental cars or air/hotels. When you select those special deals though you have to let Priceline pick your flights and rental car and/or hotel (it was worth it because the total cost of the package was less than the total cost of the flights). You just select the departure date and return date and have to live with their choices. Once they (or you) choose the flight, you go online with the airline and pick your seats. I chose to pay 29.00 extra to the airline to have a the economy plus upgrade on united (for the legroom). It was worth it for a really long flight :o)

Can you change your departure day? Fly one day earlier or one day later? Also, the earlier you book (for next month or at least 2 weeks out for example), the cheaper the flights and the more flights available (not oversold yet). The problem is that most airlines are overbooking and actually have fewer flights due to the economy and costs involved.
