First, the 7/7 attack, while obviously terrible and tragic, isn't even close to 9/11.
7/7: suicide bombers on a subway and a bus, 52 people killed.
9/11: planes crashing into buildings, roughly 2,700-2,900 killed, and projected total economic impact of over 1 trillion dollars.
Second, the 9/11 attack is a completely different situation (and far, far more complicated) than the attacks that the UK endured during WWII .
Yes, the Brits lost over 200,000 soldiers in WW II and over 50,000 civilians. The Brits were also fighting a known enemy nation-state, while the United States was attacked by a terrorist organization that does not belong to any specific nation.
I don't see too many people shedding tears for any innocent German bystanders.
And yet people like Nick and these other "blame America first" people express this "aw, shucks....the world isn't a pretty place, deal with it" attitude towards 9/11 and hypocritically condemn the United States for its actions in response to 9/11 (and fail to acknowledge that the U.S. has not been attacked on home soil since 9/11).
I really would like Nick to address this queston - why he condemns the United States for things like Gitmo and for the U.S. response to 9/11, yet doesn't say a single word about the U.K. bombing entire German cities after Coventry.
