I am curious why more developers aren't into SharePoint?
I was in attendance at my DOT NET user group meeting when a young lady from Robert Half Technology spoke briefly about their putting together a new user group called the Inland Empire SharePoint User Group, which will be located in Ontario, California. We are east of Los Angeles a few miles, about 50 or so miles. She was saying that the recruiters are having a heckuva time trying to find SharePoint Developers and Administrators. Is anyone familiar with this product, or set of products? I know that there are three levels of SharePoint Servers, but there is a lot more to it.
Sharepoint Videos:
I am watching videos I downloaded from
www.lynda.com so that I can educate myself on it a bit. I believe that I saw that the one major requirement for SharePoint is that you have to have a 64-bit processor, or set of processors. I was about to install SharePoint Server 2010 on my Quad-CPU 4GB RAM Vista Business desktop, but stopped when I saw the requirements for the 64-bit processor which I do not have.
Another thing that was stated is that due to the Obama push for healthcare, the medical field is crying out for all kinds of developers, Java, C#, VB.NET, SharePoint, etc., in order to comply with the federal fgbvoernment's edicts.
