It's been 2 decades since I used Clipper. Clipper uses NTX index files and foxpro dos uses IDX indexes. The dbf's are the same.

If you were to change an index field in a Clipper dbf from FoxPro, then Clipper would have to reindex the table. The reverse is also true if Clipper changed an index field of a FoxPro dbf that uses IDX or CDX's.
