>>I think that VFP should drop this class nonsense so we can go back to writing reams of code like our VB bretheren. I mean, what would you rather have, 12 2 week projects or one 6 month project? Now you see why VB is so popular, especially for database apps.
I just came across a VB app written by an "expert". Or at least the company thought he was an expert until he quit during a screaming match.
Let's see, among other things, this VB programmer
1) left all the default names as the defaults, so there's lots of combox1's and combox2's, etc etc. until the next programmer to look at it runs screaming from the room.
2) never wrote a common function, instead he used cut-and-paste, so the same code might reside several different places in the same form.
3) managed to create a form that takes -seven minutes- to update four records in different tables.
This was meant to be a mission critical app too, handling large financial transactions... Yow.
