Cursor is the better choice. But you still have to make sure the temp files are on a fast access media,
which can be better controlled for tables especially on multi disk machines -
if the client machine is setup to use a network temp dir, you must use a config.fp or beat up the admin.

On second thought, "and" instead of "or" might be in order...
