(Oops, this was supposed to be in Chatter and Chatter, not in .NET).

I have literally spent over 16 hours now trying to get PHP to work with IIS 7 on a Vista Business SP2 desktop. It's a no go. No matter how many forums I've visted and no matter how many technical articles I've read, and all are quite similar, and no matter how many enviornment variables I've appended, and no matter how many things I modify in the php.ini file, no combination seems to work. I still cannot render one PHP page on an IIS 7.0 server.

I thought I could somehow install WAMPSERVER, which contains PHP, APACHES Server and MySQL and be up and running. Unfortunately, if you are running IIS, Apache won't run. I do not yet know how to make IIS step aside and let Apache serve web pages.

And, installing from www.php.net does not help either.

I can't tell you how many times I have rebooted my desktop after making untold numbers of changes to various variables, files, etc. If there is some authority on how to use PHP with IIS, I do not know who he or she is. I am still going to try to get PHP to run though.

If anyone knows THE SECRET on how to make PHP work with IIS 7.0, I am all ears.

As far as books on this subject, they seem to be very scarce, or don't exist. There are plenty of PHP with Apache books though.
