Hi,
Don't know about extending the trial period but you could try VS2010 Express. There's a long list of things that it *doesn't* include here:http://stackoverflow.com/questions/86562/what-is-missing-in-the-visual-studio-2008-express-editions
but most of the time you can get by without.....
