Thanks for the clarification. Yes, there is no intellisense (I've been playing with it in VS2010).

That's a good point about ExpandoObject: assuming it is, that means the columns can be bound to WPF controls.

>WebMatrix: Not really WebMatrix that does that: THe Razor View Engine does what you talk about and the libraries are just a bonus. I'd guess the data libraries will find their way into the .NET framework in the next version as does the Razor View Engine. And as to strong typing in the Microsoft.Data space: It's really not strongly typed - it's dynamic typing most likely using ExpandoObject to dynamically add properties as needed. This means: No Intellisense and no compile time type verification so definitely not strong typing.

>>One clue might be the new Database and DynamicRecord classes in Microsoft.Data, that comes with WebMatrix. Basically, it gives you a) an IEnumerable interface and b) strong typing of columns, from c) a connection string and a sql statement. With that as a basis, and awful lot could be done, e.g., creating an ObjectDatasource (providing the missing methods, as one would do with a framework class).

>>It turns out (from a brief Twitter historical search) that Kittyhawk has been in development for more than 2 years, which is itself an interesting piece of information, in that it means that this isn't necessarily something thrown together in a hurry, but rather is a serious product.

>>>There was lots of discussion here when mjf first posted about it. It sounds like a bunch of Wizards to me. And we know how well those work. I will be surprised if there is any VFP in it as .NET is MIcrosoft's development direction.
