Microsoft has issued numerous press releases and announcements over the years, stating their commitment to the FoxPro platform. The fact that it has been included with Visual Studio, along with its constant evolution into a powerful development system, indicates (IMHO) that FoxPro is here to stay... until something is introduced that is worthy of replacing it.

The exclusion of covering FoxPro when discussing Studio is not surprising. A quick scan of the employment section in almost any newspaper will reveal that the majority of programming jobs are demanding experience in languages such as C++ or Visual Basic. They seem to be the recognized "power languages" in an industry that fails to notice that information technology is also just as powerful.

While C++ and VB programmers are busy developing the latest robotics interfaces and embedded chip technology, we FoxPro people will be quietly focusing on delivering information technology to those who can appreciate it.
