What model Asus mobo are you working with? You may need to enable 64-bit support in the BIOS - it may not be enabled by default. Download the manual for your mobo if you don't have a paper copy.

How many drives are installed? Most modern mobos have multiple SATA controllers. For example, you may have an Intel ICH controller that supports 4 or 6 ports/devices, plus a secondary controller (maybe the JMicron you list) that can support a couple more (perhaps eSATA). If so you should plug internal drive(s) into the Intel controller; you may not need to use the JMicron at all, or if you do you can install its drivers later. Windows can install itself on current Intel SATA controllers without you having to provide any special drivers during OS installation.

Once you've got the machine working properly it's a good idea to use a digital camera to take pictures of each screen in the BIOS setup.

>Looks like I spoke too soon. When I finished the installation, it turned into a 32-bit Operating System, instead of 64-bit. The hardware is 64-bit. I have verified that. The only drivers from ASUS which would work though, were the ones in the Floppy32 folder which are 32-bit. I tried to get the installation to use the Floppy64 folder for the 64-bit drivers, but the installation said the following:
>
>"The JMicron JMB36X Controller Device Driver could not be installed."
>
>There are four files in the Floppy64 older:
>jraid.cat
>jraid.sys
>jraid_f.inf
>txtsetup.oem
>
>Why none of these will work, I don't know. The files are called the same in the Floppy32 folder. My sole purpose in this exercise was to set up a SharePoint Server and that requries a 64-bit machine and o/s.

My friend who is lending me this machine told me that it was a 64-bit desktop, but I am wondering now about that. I need to go back to the ASUS web site and look at it again.
