>>Whaaaaat? Please tell me you're not one of those "Obama wasn't born in the US" types. This is REALLY scary Bill.
>>
>>Kevin, even tough we're way past the point where it would matter....I too have my doubts about where Obama was born. Having said that, I think the far bigger issue is that Obama has no sense of what it's like to be an American.

>Both those statements are utterly rediculous.

>You have your doubts - founded on what? The state of HI has certified his birth certificate. They've come out & said so and have reiterated that he's an American citizen. I'm amazed to educated people such as you and Bill would align yourselves with the nutjobs who are propagating this absurd notion.

The state of HI only provided a certificate of live birth without the relevant information. It did not provide a copy of the actual birth certificate. The only issue I have with that is that McCain had to provide his since he was born in Panama (on American soil in the canal zone) when it was demanded of him. The constitutional requirement is not to just be a citizen, but to be a natural born citizen. I seriously doubt he is anything other than a natural born citizen; however, I take everything with a grain of sand because he refuses to provide it as well as his college records. I am surprised that you accept everything so readily. Rather than question why he doesn't provide all of the information you resort to name calling (the nutjob statement). Doesn't make you or Bill right or wrong, just demonstrates that at least Bill questions what he is told and does not blindly believe everything and you lacking critical thinking and far far too easily swayed into believing what you are told to believe. You do recall the statement: absolute power corrupts absolutely....and:

"Unthinking respect for authority is the greatest enemy of
truth."
-- Albert Einstein

There is no harm in questioning....

>Second, the man's an American citizen who's live in the US all his life. He knows very well what it means to be an American. I'm guessing this is what you meant by that.

That is not true. Any reasonable research will show that he lived in Jakarta from age 6 to 10 and attended muslim school there (but not a madrassa -- it was a public muslim school and some students were christians, buddhists, etc ). However, in Obama's books that he wrote, he stated that he attended a muslim school for two years and a catholic school for 2 years in Indonesia from 6-10.

>Finally, no politician in Washington has any real clue what it's like for the average citizen in the US. All their real world expenses aare paid for, and the don't know the meaning of want. Bush and Cheney were born with golden spoons in their mouths. Clinton worked himself througe college but forgot what it weas like when he sat down in the big chair. Find me a politician who really knows or truly cares what the average citizen's life is like.

Are you kidding? :o)
