>I follow the IronPython list and several of the guys on that list are very concerned. They believe that IronRuby is dead and IronPython will soon join. What is taking it's place - JavaScript. I can't believe it! I can't believe it!

But you can trust M$... to always try to take the most popular tool (if they can't buy it because it's OS, then they'll build their own version), just so they could drop it once they have attracted enough developers.

I can see how this strategy is already beginning to backfire. The guys attracted that way came with the tool - but when the tool is gone, less than expected number of them will turn out to have learned not to worry and love the M$. They'll go elsewhere. With newer iterations of this game, there'll be fewer of them in the initial phase. Imagine now M$ embraces PHP. How many PHP developers would go for PHP.net, knowing what happened to Fox, Python, Ruby (and maybe some I forgot)?

>It wouldn't surprise me if C++ was dropped. After all how many MS C++ developers are there?
