Some of my relatives have done one piece of my family researched back to Jens Pedersen Ødegaardseie b: in Ødegaard, Vardal, on and on until it reaches my generation.
1 Jens Pedersen Ødegaardseie b: in Ødegaard, Vardal, Norway
. +Johanne Pedersdatter
. 2 Peder Jensen b: February 20, 1774 in Bråstad, Vardal, Norway
.... +Agnete Olsdatter b: 1761
.... 3 Jens Pedersen/Bråstadeie b: 1795 in Vardal, Norway d: WFT Est 1807-1896
....... +Marthe Andersdatter/Stokke b: November 09, 1785
....... 4 Andreas "Andrew" Jensen/Skogen b: January 25, 1828 in Skogenheim, "husmanns" place, Brastad farm, Vardal, Norway d: November 05, 1904
.......... +Berte (Anne) Andersdatter/Mørkve b: December 21, 1828 in Mørkve, "husmanns" place, Brastad farm, Vardal, Norway d: January 03, 1913
.......... 5 Carl Martinus "Charlie" Skogen b: October 20, 1857 in Halfway Creek, LaCrosse County, Wisconsin d: September 08, 1903
............. +Otilia Hallingstad b: December 23, 1866 in Hallingstad farm, in Ostre Toten, Norway d: December 16, 1957
....and on and on
etc... there's 8 pages of the lineage so far for just one branch.

What was interesting about that line (my father's) is how some of them got the name "Skogen" when they came to America (from Skogenheim) instead of Jensen from Jen's son...

On the other side(s), I've not been as lucky (due to a great grandmother born on a reservation and no written records and too many cousins on the res who are just plain confusing) but on the English (Hutchinson) side, so far back to the 1600s and an infamous ancestor during the Boston Tea Party. So many branches to research between the 4 grandparents...two who met on the boat and a great uncle who was hung and ....

In the end I'm probably related in a distant fashion to a lot of folks....

Updated: changed to the correct 5th branch...
