Of course it's not in the help file, because Set Device command is obsolete. It was used for redirecting the output of @...SAY commands, which seem to have used a different mechanism, not your regular console as the ? and Type use. Set Device actually nothing, if you're not using @...SAY.

Try
set print on
type (lcFile)
set print off

back to same old
