There's really no difference between SQL Express and full-blown SQL Server.

64-bit will work fine for most the stuff you'll need to do (connect to it from VFP, load VFP data into it, etc). The problems you'll encounter is if you want to connect directly to VFP data from SQL Server, which most people don't do.
