Still living on what we brought, which will suffice for a few more months.

>>>>>>>>>WTF? This can't be right. You opened an account with the Virginia Credit Union (sounds suspiciously American) and put legitimate money into it, and they won't let you have it? I have been reading some Philip K. Dick lately and this is beyond about anything he wrote about.

I thought the ban on moving money to Serbia/Montenegro was lifted though when the travel ban was lifted....

Great plot, great characters, some humor, some pathos not laid on too thick. She can be earthy at times, which of course I like. There is even a character with the unimprovable name of Binky Rain. She is an old bat who has the quirk of saying her A’s like E’s – “He was efrican.” “I told the men in the benk….” Recommended.

>>>Its a lovely morning here Mike. Torrential rain last night has made everything very fresh.
>>>I don't like books where dialogue is written with an accent or some pronunciation. Made me not read trainspotting for instance so I'll leave that.

>>The sleep trick didn't work so I am back up. Listening to the Stones on youtube, which is not necessarily a remedy. I don't have to get up in the morning and it's summer. Just listened to a great ad hoc version of "Wild Horses." The Stones are usually so overproduced and pumped up, it's nice to see them just banging around in the studio.

Agreed.

BTW, that whole part of the Stones playbook came from an Alabama guy named Gram Parsons. He was obscure in his own time. Retrospectively he is considered the father of country rock. He took the Byrds in that direction, then recorded two memorable solo albums. He OD-ed in the desert in Twentynine Palms, California, and his body was set on fire as part of some weird pact. You can't make this stuff up. He and Keef were close buddies, drugged up most of the time apparently. Keef made it, Gram didn't. When you listen to some of these songs like "Wild Horses" you know where they came from. Country music is not exactly indigenous to London.
