>You too critical Dragan :) Its a good product with both extensive GUI interface but also the ability to script at any point for those who have special requirements. Basically I don’t have any special need iro install package but I'm just trying to figure out this one issue. I think all in all its a good product with many features that ease the building of an install package easily.

They introduced scripting? Good. If you can script your way through it, then getting it to register a few dlls and/or COM servers should be child's play.

Still, IMO, the ISLE I remember was a toy, where simplicity and ease were very superficial. As soon as you tried to do something that's not in the HelloWorld.vb example (or .cs), you'd get into trouble. Not that it couldn't do it - maybe it could, it was just impossible to find in its GUI.

But then, it's been a number of years (ahem, seven, eight?) since I had the displeasure, and my later attempts at it went only so far as to extract the list of files out of it, so I could build in Inno. One of those was a VB3 project, which eventually ran on Vista (!) without a problem. You can understand why I'm biased - I had bad experience with ISLE (the limited edition - and after that I'd never fork a dime for the unlimited), while I had lots of success and very little trouble with Inno.
