The prime objective was to eliminate Iraq's WMD stockpiles and production capability (which Iraq played a shell game with since before the first gulf war, and which Iraq possessed and used against Iran and the Kurdish people), and to eliminate Iraq as a threat to the region.

Secondary objective was to remove Saddam Hussein.

Iraq's WMD stockpiles went somewhere, but apparently are no longer available to Iraq. Iraq currently is not a threat to the region.

Saddam Hussein is dead.

Done.

What happens to Iraq now that we are running away is another story.
