It's bittersweet for me. He was my favorite baseball player for a long, long time. I grew up a Red Sox fan and he was a revelation. They simply had no tradition of overpowering flamethrowers. I endured a long string of junkballers until Roger came along. To this day I don't know why he felt the need to cheat. I turned against him when he started roiding up and lying about it. It's not natural to get better at age 40 and you knew something was rotten in Denmark.

I don't know that it's something you should go to prison for but he definitely does not belong in the Hall of Fame. Any more than Bonds, any more than McGwire. It's a shame because all of them belonged there without help.
