Mike, the entire Rev. Wright sitaution is just one more example of Obama lying.
When Obama "broke" with Rev. Wright, he tried to convince people that he was shocked and surprised by Wright's actions.
If that's the case, why did he (Obama), one year prior, disinvite Wright from the event where Obama announced his candidacy?
Obama spent 20 years in that church - not just as a regular member, but also someone who purchased tapes of Wright's sermons, and also once donated $20,000 to the church.
Just one week after 9/11, Wright gave a sermon that sadistically rejoiced how America's chickens had come home to roost. Obama stayed with Wright for six years after that sermon - and really only made a decision on Wright when the heat of the presidential race was on.
Obama hung around a man who, time after time, offered incredibly hateful rhetoric about American and whites. Sure, Obama gave a long speech ("A More Perfect Union"). But it was just that...a speech that never once offered an explanation why he remained in a congregation whose pastor epitomized the type of anger that Obama wanted the country to move on from.
For 20 years, Obama never complained - until he ran for President.
Back in 1995, Obama said that "Rev. Wright represents the best of what the black church has to offer"
