No, Mike. You don't get it.

Two of my years, 61 and 62 were spent in a Muslim country. It was widely thought that the locals hated us Americans. I would drive down the road on my trusty Lambreta and the locals would throw rocks at me and/or they would run me off the road. Luckily, I was wearing a helmet.

One day I decided to start waving as I approached, and the guy dropped his rock and waved back. I don't think he hated me. I believe he was just doing what someone told him to do.

You have "Bad Guys" in every country and they're the ones that get all the attention of the media.
