Try the Federal Election Commission (http://www.fec.gov/finance/ftpdet.htm). They have databases of every donations over $100 to any federal campaign for the last few election cycles. They have large flat files conveniently ZIPed and have the corresponding campaign databases so you can even use a relational example. Don't know how big you need, but you can always import these fairly large databases a couple of times. They have over 50MB--zipped of flat files.
