>I'm trying to capture the keypress in a list box and then update a textbox on the form based on which record is active; like forcing a double click each time the user presses a key. If they type "F" to go to the firm name "Farrow and Company" I want that to refresh in the textbox. Same goes if they press the down arrow. For some reason, it always seems to be one action behind. As if it's refreshing for the item it's leaving, not the one it's moving to. What am I missing?

You should be using the interactivechange event, not the valid event. This way the textbox will refresh for mouseclicks and for keypresses.
