Tracy, if you'll recall, all 419 U.S. representatives and 98 senators who voted on that bill voted YES (without a single "nay" vote and a few absentees).

I agree with you that Obama was right for signing it. The country OUGHT to take care of those who served and sacrificed so much, and are now unable to care for themselves. This is the kind of "public works" I agree with.

But let's give the proper credit to the senator from Hawaii and the 7 co-sponsors (a mix of Dems and Reps) for working together on the bill.
