Simplest way then will be to post the table structure of these two tables and provide desired output.

Did you try CTE/Row_number() solution already? That's the simplest to remember.

Can you also explain what do you mean by not "among the example"? IMHO, the examples in that blog cover all possible problems like that.
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
