I've got a friend who develops in Clarion, but surely he runs into the "well it isn't MS, how do we know it's going to be around!" that others hear. And while I've not used Powerbuilder, I have looked at several other db alternatives (including earlier versions of Clarion) and not seen anything as robust as VFP.

I intend to spread my horizons with VB, VI, javascript, vbscript, html and probably will even look at Delphi. However, I'm staying with the tool that does the best job for what I'm trying to achieve. As long as VFP is the best data handler, that's probably where I'll be. If it gets folded in with the other products, I'll look at that.

My point is that I came from dbase before going to Foxbase and would go somewhere else if I found compelling reasons i.e. (superior performance.) After all SPEED is what brought me to Fox in the first place.
