I don't know what the cost of living is there right now. I could ask my ex - he's there (again) for a year ... I'd be curious to hear what he (or anyone else) thinks. The story just seems so odd. In addition to being a bad man, the guy who confiscated these computers is obviously a pretty bad businessman!!!
But then again, maybe he's more clever than I'm giving him credit for....
Reminds me of an old Roseanne episode (and I'll try to keep this subtle)...when D.J. hit puberty, he would steal the lingerie section of Roseanne's Sears catalog, and then disappear into the bathroom for 2-3 minutes. When Darlene (my favorite character) learned that D.J. would be "in and out" in 2-3 minutes, she replied, "well, he's either really good at it....or he's really BAD at it!"
