>>Sounds like a bodge dictated by desperation....

LOL. Yes,a 24-carat trick shot!

>>Your suggestions *may* be good but there's no point in arguing the pros/cons of various solutions when we know zilch about Gerards business or his clients actual needs.....

Fair enough... but the hardware vendor abandonment of Windows for mobile devices is an "elephant in the room". As recently as June, Asus (which is one of the biggest mobile suppliers internationally) was saying Windows 7 for its next tablet. Now it's Android. But Barclays is predicting 15M tablet sales in 2010 and 30M in 2011 compared to >350M PC sales, most of which will be Windows, so it's not as if MS will be going broke. ;-)

FWIW: of the 15M tablet sales in 2010, 10M are expected to be iPad and most of the rest Android. If people want to offer solutions for mobile, this *has* to be a consideration.

BTW, re the iPad being a bit too big for smaller hands to hold and type: apparently Apple is buying 7" screens and there are rumors of an iPad mini. ;-)
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
