PMFJI, to add to the positive and inspiring message from Sergey, I ran into a problem with printer drivers for Windows 7. Of the two printers I have I can't find a printer driver for neither, for Win 7; the printer manufacturer suggest to buy a new printer. Just so that your colleague might know what he may run into.
