A little while ago I suggested to Michel that users here should always be able to search their own messages, whether they are subscribers or not, in recognition of the content they contribute. He didn't reject the idea out of hand, in fact I thought he was going to implement that, but I checked just now and it hasn't been done. If non-subscribers could search their own messages I think that would meet your need.
