I have a theory that there's a "cool" Billy Joel and then a wimpy twin.

The cool one creates such great songs as "New York State of Mind", "Miami 2017", "Big Shot", "Pressure", "Captain Jack", "Legend of Billy the Kid"....and then the super-wuss takes control and produces crap like "Uptown Girl", "Tell Her About It", "River of Dreams", and "Just the Way You Are".

Kind of like Aerosmith - there's the cool Steve Tyler and then the whiny parallel universe version that I just want to slap the bejeezus out of. <s>
But then again, even on Tyler's worst day he's still cooler than Bon Jovi.

I'd make a terrible record producer - I'd outlaw most love songs.
