I agree, not a smoking gun. People also tell others about their ancestral heritage as well. For example, my father's side is from Norway so they say I am Norwegian and the family through my father and grandfather has been traced back to Jens Pedersen Ødegaardseie b: in Ødegaard, Vardal, Norway sometime in the mid 1700s. I have German, English, and Ojibway on my mother's side.
