As for the version of .Net I thought it was 3.5, but I realised recently that it seems to be 2.0 (based on some error messages I got). But I don't have a problem switching to 3.5 once it is easily done (I am using VS 2008 in case that makes a difference).

Seriously, if you learn how to use the reportviewer control, it is basically just creating your report and it's datasources and then presenting those same datasources (name and structures - properties for entities, must match either by entity or list or datatable or whatever) to the SSRS report at runtime and then use the reportviewer control to display it.

Once you get started, I can provide you some examples if you need them using the local reportviewer control in a winform application via C#. It is not that much different using webforms - I just didn't keep any practice examples around. You can find plenty of asp.net and the reportviewer control samples on devx - I suggest that after you learn about the reportviewer control (from the links I provided), you start there for some basic tutorials.

I think you will find that it is easier than you fear :o) I just dug in (a mockup requirement for a proof of concept comparing SSRS to crystal reports in .net) and got it all working using different datasources (entity classes, lists, etc) with Kevin Goff's help (you can't go wrong there when it comes to SSRS) :o)
