There is a huge difference between a Pentium and a Pentium Pro. The Pentium is a 586 and the Pentium Pro is a 686. The Pentium Pro runs 32 bit code faster than a Pentium at the same clock speed, while a Pentium runs 16 bit code faster than a Pentium Pro at the same clock speed. The Pentium II is a repackaged Pentium Pro with MMX.

The "knockoff" issue could be important. Foxpro treats all numbers as double precision floating point. This means that Foxpro really benefits from a fast math coprocessor. The math coprocessor functions of nonIntel CPUs are not as fast as Intel's.
