Hi Ellen -

>When you say your app was 'extremely sluggish', did you see this sluggishness on your forms when tabbing thru the controls?
>

No, there really only is one big hang, and that is on activating pages. Each one takes about 4 seconds to show/refresh, whereas in vfp5 they are instant. One has a lot of textboxes, not much else, the other two have editable grids with views (timekeeping app). Both types real slow...tabbing through textboxes is pretty quick, grid cells quick. No delays entering text as you've seen in 6. But I do get funny highlighting on some textboxes that's not my default highlighting in 6, that's odd...and of course still no toolbar on the top-level. It's probably on the hidden main screen, I'll have to see why it does that...

>On my app(that I converted from VFP5) on a P166, w/64M RAM, just tabbing thru the controls is slow (even tho it's not hitting any code). It is also sluggish when I enter data in a text box. In fact, I can get 3 or 4 letters ahead of seeing them appear on the screen(no code in the interactiveChange)! Neither of these things happen on my P200.

Test machine is an old P100, 16 RAM, quite antiquated, but none-the-less the app in vfp5 is very fast on it.

>I am NOT saying that it's not something in my code, in fact I hope it is..... I really want to upgrade to VFP6, but until I can figure this out, I'll have to stay with VFP5.

My app was actually started in vfp3, so problems may be related to that, two major upgrades...it will definitely take recoding to fix even if it runs better on faster machines, since we have 100s still in operation. However, all these gripes stated, there's really no rush to upgrade that particular app, anyway... it's my huge app of 50 or so forms, dozens of grids, 100s of textboxes, etc., that I'll eventually want to upgrade. After I get VS6 in I'll make a test conversion and see how that does, and keep fingers crossed :)
