I'm using a combobox

The control is made visible and receives focus by the click event of another control.

If the mouse does not enter the area of the dropdown, the up/down arrows work; sometimes the mouse wheel works.

If the mouse enters the dropdown area, the mouse will highlight a list item; up/down arrows may change displayvalue, but will not move the highlighted item.

I have searched, but am unable to find this behavior previously discussed.
