>>>Do you watch Rubicon? What do you think about it? I have problems following it, I think it is way too slow for someone who recently adopted a dog and consequently sleeps few hours a day, thus I am constantly fighting not to fall asleep...

>>I *love* Rubicon (and of course I'm on for Mad Men). I always make sure to record it as well so I can watch it again without distraction or go back to a part I think i missed. This is why I like TV rather than movies because they have the time to tell a story. I agree it is not fast-paced and I'm careful who I recommend it to but it really is my kind of thing. ( though I find the violence in SOA pretty satisfying too <s> )

>Regarding Rubicon I did not give up on it yet, I am still recording all episodes and watching them whenever I can, and it is true what you say about TV having the time to tell the story, trouble is that sometimes they do not want to stop milking the cow and they go too far *cough*Lost*cough*. Of course now that Dexter is about to start there will be one hour less per week :) (I know, it seems contradictory after what I said about Lost, as they are already on season five, but for me they keep it interesting season after season, while Lost seemed like they were just fooling around avoiding the end.)

I agree about Lost. Fun to watch but always felt they were really winging it and didn't much know where they were going next.

In contrast, remember Babylon 5? They had a 5 year story arc and knew exactly what the last episode would look like before the show premiered. Talk about *epic* plotting.
Some of the acting was quite good and some pretty cheeseball but the interesting direction of the story arc was obvious throughout.

The big thrill is coming - Boardwalk Empire !!

Charles Hankey

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin

Pardon him, Theodotus. He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
