I got a document for a sample translation, in Word (see attached screenshot). The structure looks awfully like what little I know about XML. I am supposed to translate only the text corresponding to the "Value" tags. I already sent the sample translation, but I have a few doubts:
How do I convert this to an actual XML document? Save as XML works, but it inserts so much of the usual Word garbage, that it is very hard to read, say, in NotePad.
How do I insert additional XML tags? Not that I need to do that, but I am curious whether this is even possible in Word.
Is there an easy way to count words? I am interested only in the words within the "Value" tags! If I do the "real" translation, I am supposed to charge by the word - and only the words within the "Value" tags are of interest in this case. (I suspect I'll have to convert this to a "real" XML document, then write a program, pressumably in Visual FoxPro, to count the words. Perhaps my potential client already has a method to count words, too.)
