Read the link: WPF is dead, and there is a battle internally at Microsoft (Windows division = HTML5; Developer division is Silverlight) between Silverlight and HTML5.

If true, this is going to cause a lot of distrust in the developer community. VFP was one thing. It was someone else's product and they kept it alive for a long time.
