Is the B side "Bebop Baby" ?
Hey, I was thinking of you today. Just started reading "Savages" by Don Winslow. Keep forgetting about him even though I loved "Death and Life of Bobby Z" and "The Winter of Frankie Machine"
Just a couple chapters into it, but so far I'm blown away. This guy is a serious stylist. Have decided to hunt down and read everything else he's ever done.

http://www.amazon.com/Sot-weed-Factor-Government-Constitutions-ebook/dp/B002RKSAF8/ref=pd_cp_kinc_0?ie=UTF8&m=AG56TWVU5XWC2(though as best I can tell this is a "book within a book" sample chapter and not the Barth book which doesn't seem to be available in ebook)
Check out Winslow. ( Kevin, I bet you'd like "Savages" too )

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy
Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.
-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin
Pardon him, Theodotus. He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
