>>>>Bono's nonprofit ONE Campaign is in big trouble after sending boxes with pricey items to press advocating President Obama giving $6 billion to the UN's Swiss-based Global Fund to fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria in Africa.
>>>>
>>>>The boxes, which were delivered individually be expensive messenger, contained a $15 bag of Starbucks coffee, a $15 Moleskine leather notebook, a $20 water bottle, a plastic ruler, a black and white cookie, small tin of Band-Aids and two syringe-style pens.

>>>>
>>>>Considering that Bono's nonprofit took in $14,993,873 in public donations in 2008 and donated only $184,732 to three charities, it's pretty suspicious.

>>>That is disappointing to hear. I have always perceived his interest in world affairs to be genuine. The part about giving pricey gifts to solicit donations doesn't bother me, that's probably true, but not disbursing the money (if true) is inexcusable. It's not like the guy needs the money so maybe there is more to it.
>>>
>>>Former Bears great Gale Sayers has gotten bad publicity here for the same thing with his charitable foundation.
>>
>>U2 moved all their tax affairs to Holland to avoid paying tax in Ireland.
>>Bono and his wife set up an ethical clothing company manufacturing in Africa.
>>The manufacturing has now been moved to China.
>>The mans a well known hypocrite

>I did not know that. You're there so I accept what you say.

>As far as taxes, haven't British musicians been establishing residence in other countries for that reason for decades? People holler about taxes here and our top rate is less than half of what it is in the UK, or at least what it used to be.

Gosh. Do you really not recall the many discussions on that? Some taxes may be lower, but look at this chart (using wikipedia since you have used it in the past so I figure it's a link you may actually look at):

It really depends on which taxes you want to focus on. Folks like to picture corporate taxes as "big business" but that is really not the reality. There are many small corporations.
