You don't call Colbert to dinner expecting him to do anything else but what he always does. So whoever thought this was a good idea, surely still thinks so. This distraction over a minor issue grabbed the focus of the media, fine, so what were they doing elsewhere at the time? Which nasty law, or presidential order, or covert operation is being passed or signed or just smuggled behind your back while you were expressing your disagreement/lols/facepalm/nausea/laughter at this show?
