Your description actually sounds more like a netbook than a reader with a browser and apps. If that is what you want, why not a netbook? >

I have to agree with you. I felt the same way. I tested a few of the early versions and thought no way - what a waste of money. The processors have improved so much though since then AND I have to remind myself what it is meant to be used for. It is not a development laptop :o)
