And good strikes, I'm sure, meaning around the edges of the strike zone. Also mixing up the pitches. If you just steam them down the middle in the major leagues you're going to get creamed no matter how fast it is.
I thought the Phillies might let Halladay go 5 innings in his last scheduled start tomorrow, but see they are not. They don't need the win but he may need the work. Pitchers are creatures of habit and you wonder how it might affect him to go over a week without pitching. Then again, he did pitch a lot of innings so the extra rest may not be a bad thing.
